glitches in mp3 rendering

Suddenly I'm getting little skips in mp3 rendering of audio.
Vegas Pro 8.0c
Mac Pro 4 core 2.6 running XP pro under Boot Camp - i.e. running natively without emulation.
all SATA drives
not showing any significant processes eating drive or cpu time

very strange.
Using the frauenhoffer codec that came with Vegas
Reinstalled and same results.

I should note that sound forge renders fine as far as I can tell.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

it seems to happen when i'm using noise reduction. it looks as though mp3 frames are dropped out randomly.
when I don't use noise reduction, it works ok as far as I can tell.

rendering to ogg, mpg, aac etc. is not affected. Only mp3. I installed the LAME codec, but vegas doesn't see it.

I've experienced the same problem.

The audio track had 96kbps 24 bit audio and noise reduction was in the processing chain.

I re-rendered to a 16 bit 44.1kbps .wav file and was able to render a .mp3 without the errors.

Using Vegas 8 at the latest maintenance level and the .mp3 encoder supplied by Sony/Vegas.
