Glow effect around bouton

Rosebud wrote on 10/31/2006, 11:41 PM
From DVD-A manual (Highlight masks):
The lightest pixels (those with an average intensity of 192 to 255) are mapped to the color set's fill color (color 1), and the darkest pixels (those with an average intensity of 0 to 63) are mapped to the color set's transparent color (color 4).

Is it due to the DVD specification or is it how DVD-A is working ?
I ask for this because I can't find a way to make a real glow effect around my buttons.

Thx

DVD specs.

But depending on how the rest of your menu is setup up, you might be able to fake it by incorporating your "glow" into the thumbnails themselves (in Photoshop or similar app if your thumbnails are images, in Vegas if they're videos) and using the inverse selection method I describe in a recent thread.

Many thx Rob,
Unfortunately, my menu background is an animated loop.
However your example is excellent with solid color background !

Make a mask with the "glow" outline surrounding the button.
You set the outline color to your glow color - say yellow and make it slightly
transparent by adjusting the alpha level.

See the following link on two color menu buttons:
