Go to IN or OUT shortcut in trimmer?

When I mark in out out points by hitting I or O while playing footage in trimmer it creates an unhighlighted region that I have to double click on before being able to use the home or end keys to jump to either end of the region. Is there another shortcut for this that would bypass the use of the mouse?

I've also noticed that when using the timeline and pressing IN or OUT the selection is highlighted automatically. Perhaps Sony can make the trimmer act the same way? I find the trimmer very usefull for logging long shots with lots of cuts so any quicker ways of doing things would be welcomed.

Thanks,

Marc

This came up on the Cow, and Dr. Dropout said that they are aware of this quirk and hinted that it would be different in the next version.

That is good news. I am not a fan of the trimmer. I don't have any specifics. I just don't like it. Any change is welcomed with me.

I actually really like the trimmer it just needs some work as does all the media management features in Vegas. I am not a paper logger and prefer to capture tapes and log within the program so I have instant access to anything I decide to use as the edit progresses. I am working on a project right now with long interviews where I need to lift various portions and being able to make regions with notes is much nicer than how it works in premeire with markers. I just wish I could make sub clips from them. What I also miss is being able to read the notes while in the icon mode in media pool - right now it's one or the other. I realize you can read the regions in the explorer window but I like to see both the icons and and the notes at the same time.

I think another cool idea would be the option to have Vegas create a pop up window with region notes when hovering over the file in the media pool (kind of like how tool tips pop up). This could get annoying with lot of region notes (hence the option) but for clips with a few different marker points within the same clip it would be a quick way to check footage and allow you to see more icons at once.

I know there has been various hints to media improvments in the next version so It should interesting considering the huge leap Vegas made from 3 to 4. Avid and Final cut watch out!
