going to the big screen?

Hey, has anyone out there run across a vegas system that was set up to go to the big screen? Is it possible, does it exist?

I have a feature job potential based on the work I have done in Vegas. To my knowledge, Vegas really isnt a great tool for going to the big screen. TV and DVD is fine, but the big screen?

INFO?

Big screen no problem, Vegas will work at up to 2K res. You can work at any res upto 2K x 2K (I think you can actually go beyond that) in 4.4.4 but you are limited to 8 bit output. Vegas will read 10bit though. Support for reading and writing Cineon files would be nice, so would being able to afford suitable hardware :)

Oh and one area where Vegas is probably the best there is when it comes to the big screen, the SOUND.

File / Properties. Set the project settings to whatever is appropriate. There are a few HD and HDV templates you can choose. If you want higher resolution then simply type in the frame size you want.

Beware though that higher resolutions require massively powerful playback systems. You probably won't find any computer capable of playing back 1920x1080 4:4:4 at 24fps without skipping or stalling. If your objective is to print to film then this isn't an issue.
