Good Audio or Video Cards?

I am looking to edit an entire seires that will be aired on a TV network. I am looking at getting a new computer and was wondering about good sound and video cards. I am getting a Dell Workstation and one of the choices is

nVidia, Quadro FX500, 128MB dual Monitor or VGA or DV/VGA capable

for a video card. It seems to be in my price range. Is this a good card? What do I need to get a great and fast card for a cheap price? What is a great video card in a good price range? Same with Sound cards? Is sound Blaster a good card? What do you recomend?

Thanks for your time.

Have a great day!

Sound Blasters are BARELY enough to do good audio work with. Echo, M-Audio, Frontier, Aardvark all make great cards. I personally prefer Echo or M-Audio sound cards. I know the guys at Sony used to use Echo for everything, but I'm not sure if that's still the case or not. For a video card, just about anything works great. You don't need a gaming video card for doing video work. Save your sheckles to buy a broadcast monitor.

From the looks of it, that video card isn't the Game card, it's the 3D design card! :) That card for you qould be te equivilent of you useing a 2 trailer semi to take the kids to grandma's. :)

Go for a lower spec card, but get the duel video out if you can. Even though you may not want duel monitors now, you may in a year.
