Hello,

I have been using Vegas Video for awhile now with a Pinnacle generic IEEE 1394 card. I have made alot of very succesfull videos with it, but I have also had alot of problems getting them without artifacts coming through on the print to tape option. I am about to upgrade mt PC to Win 2k from 98 SE from scracth. I plan on buying a new IEEE 1394 card and My question is what do you guys/gals think I should get? What card has been very reliable to you? Please let me know. Thanks

Brian

PS(I know my artifact problem may be USB or chipset related as well, I just want a new IEEE 1394 card as well)

I just added a Firewire card to my system. Following Sonic Foundry's advice found here I purchased a ADS Pyro Digital Video 1394. You can find it for around $65 online. I'm using the default Windows drivers (WIN 2K), and NONE of the supplied software. So far it works like a charm!

Any OHCI compliant 1394 card should work. I found a Lucent one at www.pricewatch.com a while back for $24.00. Dont waste your money paying for software you wont use..
