The bad news is "where's the download?"

Ha! I see. You download the trial, not an update.

I guess I'll go with the trial..... no updates are listed yet

Just can't wait to try it!
Thanks for posting

Hi,

Good news : 13 new effects and most of them with new help PDF file dedicated for Vegas. I have played a little bit with DVE, fantastic and simple : can dissolve one corner or border of generated media with light and simulate atmo effects.

Bad news : all 3D effect can't work at all in my setup (deosn't matter if use two_monitor_setup or one_monitor_setup)... without any user action, after about 10 second Vegas has total stop, no error description, also problems with SAVE project (SAVE leads to enexpected closing of Vegas without any message, saved project disapears). Problem reported to BorisFx - I'm waiting for support contact... and confirmation from other users.

I have in this moment only 64bit version of Vegas installed. All test have been perfoming with 64bit BCC.

:-(

Did not check jet, if Motion Tracker problems are solved (some notes in release info).

Best regards,

Hi,

New tutorial from John Rofrano :

http://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/15/860894

As you can see, two new plugins (Pan&Zoom, UpRez) are in beta testing.

Can anybody start 3D text in two_monitor_setup ?

Best regards,

RRA,
Wish I could help you but I don't have a dual monitor setup and noticed that with new OFX, my 22" monitor isn't big enough to handle all controls.

Did a quick test this morning with 3D EXTRUDED TEXT. I have applied it over a solid color from the media generator. I did have to click twice on the event FX icon and then came the Boris window.

Other than that, worked fine on single monitor.

Thanks for posting John Rofrano's tutorial. Will have a look at it

No problems here on a dual monitor. I do have Vegas running on the primary monitor and the warning was when Vegas is not on the primary monitor. That tutorial was made on my two monitor PC.

Hi Johnny Roy,

I have sent to you screenshot of my desktop. Could you look on it ?

What warning do you mean in your post ?

In my setup, even I set preview on first monitor, even use windows layout for one monitor (main), 3D Text and Layer Deformer hangs Vegas, if only second monitor is visible in Windows. How to overcome this obstacle ?

Best regards,

Yea, that looks similar to my desktop. I have no problems with BCC7 although I am using a beta that is probably beyond 7.0.3.

> What warning do you mean in your post ?

From the readme notes for 7.0.3 in the link on first post. it says under Known Issues:

-when using Extruded EPS, Extruded Spline, Extruded Text, Layer Deformer, Type on Text on dual-monitor systems, it is recommended that you keep your host running on the primary monitor to avoid any instability that may occur. Also, it may take a few seconds for these filters to initiallize when used the first time, especially on a dual-monitor system. Subsequent uses will load faster.

I haven't had any problems. I have both my Samsung SyncMaster 215w monitors plugged into my nVidia GeForce 9800GT via DVI with the 258.96 nVidia drivers.

Hi,

I have been testing Layer Deformer in one_monitor_system (second monitor disabled in nVidia control panel). Can insert plugin and Vegas doesn't crash, but can't animate Shatter Deformer. If I set Time Mode to Automated, there is no action on screen. To see that something is changing have to change cursor position and change any parameter value. But plugin (or Vegas) doesn't refresh Shatter automatically.

Can anybody confirm ?

There is interesting Option window (below controllers) and there is specyfication of my graphic card (as plugin see it). Plugin reports that quantity of GPU is equal ZERO. Is it normal ? What does it means ? vReveal recognizes, tha GPU is on. nVidia control panel shows, that I have 64 Cuda cores... can't uderstand.

:-(
To be honest, have to switch to two_monitor_setup and forget about new plugins, waiting for update or Vegas 10b.

Best regards,

Well in my case, I can animate the Shatter Deformer with no crashing but when applying BCC Layer Deformer on a video event, it makes the event turn light grey. Shouldn't I be able to see my event?

I have been playing around with some presets (still not revealing my event) and would get occasional crashes upon playing few seconds.
RRA wrote on 11/27/2010, 12:56 AM
Hi Rosto99,

You should see event - there are some demos for Layer Deformer. This feature work for me : front texture layer = source layer. Have checked that can animate Shatter manually (keframes on Time), but automated still isn't working.

Could you tell me, what Option window is reporting from your system ? and what video card (and driver) are you using ?

In my system it is :

Graphics Card : Quadro FX 1800/PCI/SSE2
OpenGL Version : 3.3.0
Driver Version : 8.17.12.5912
Available Texture Memory : 128 MB
Max Texture Dimensin : 8192 x 8192
Physical CPU count : 8
Number of GPUs : 0 !!! is it normal ? !!!
Display Mode : Standard
Monitor 1 resolution : 1920 x 1200 pixels

Shaders : C:/... (path here)

Hardware Status : Supported
Critical Testing : Successful

YES : enable OpenGL and continue (may render)
NO : disable OpenGL and continue (unlikely to render).

There is no description, which choice should be done according to system configuration and how it influences on workflow.

Furthermore : Boris should give us specyfication, how to conifgure graphic card driver (these new BCC plugins - I know this from John Rofrano - use OpenGL 3D). There is a lot of options in driver, I even can prepare setup for specific application, but don't know how to...

Looks like this revision of BCC can't recognize properly second monitor (there is no line devoted to second monitor in Option window).

Best regards,

front texture layer = source layer

Thanks so much, it works! I need some sleep!!!

Here in my system it is :

Graphics Card : GeForce 9500 GS/PCI/SSE2
OpenGL Version : 3.3.0
Driver Version : 8.17.12.5896
Available Texture Memory : 128 MB
Max Texture Dimensin : 8192 x 8192
Physical CPU count : 4

no mention on number of GPU.....

Display Mode : Standard
Monitor 1 resolution : 1680 x 1050 pixels

Shaders : C:/...

Hardware Status : Supported
Critical Testing : Successful

YES : enable OpenGL and continue (may render)
NO : disable OpenGL and continue (unlikely to render).

So I did a quick test with fx (sphere and plane) applied on the source layer and it worked fine, no crash.
