There's an interesting article that features several NLEs in the Dec issue of eMedia.

Finally, they are understanding the positioning of Movie Studio and Vegas. Unlike many other consumer applications (easy to use, but completely dead end products (help little as folks graduate to their higher-end products)), Movie Studio is easy to use, but also allows folks to move up to the pro level with a very similar interface, features, etc. (but with great initial wizards, tutorials, etc.).

The compare/contrast between the Sony and Adobe approach are detailed and it is why I recommend Movie Studio to my budding hobbyist friends. There are some major differences worth noting concerning the DVD shortfalls of the Adobe product (without Elements it is almost too basic).

Worth a look.
