Got a message welcoming me to Vegas Pro Suite -- but I didn't order it

ernie-tamminga wrote on 3/7/2025, 12:52 PM

This morning I got an email with this message:

---------------------

We’re thrilled to welcome you to VEGAS Pro Suite!
Your upgrade opens up an exciting new world of editing possibilities that will bring your projects to the next level

---------------------

But I didn't order Pro Suite. I upgraded to Vegas Pro (NOT Suite) in November of 2024.
I'm going to search my credit card records to see if I've been billed for an unauthorized upgrade to Pro Suite, but in the meantime I'm annoyed at having received this message.

@ernie-tamminga I got a few of those messages a while ago but like you I hadn't ordered the suite, It was a mth or two back so I can't remember exactly but I could've swore my Magix account - My Products said Vegas Pro Suite, I ignored it, checked my bank account just in case 🤷‍♂️. looking yesterday I noticed My Products account is back to just saying VEGAS Pro 22.

When I say 'I could've swore my Magix account - My Products said Vegas Pro Suite,' I'm actually quite certain about that because when I looked (for another reason) I noticed it & was presently surprised that it had reverted back.

No idea why this happened.

-------------

It was like spam if you look at the dates

-------------

I just found my post I made about. & the picture I shared. One person replied telling me to contact Support, which I didn't do. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/email-saying-thankyou-for-choosing-suite-i-bought-edit-not-suite--147649/

My account looks like this now. The suite mention disappeared.

Yes, very annoying.!

@Reyfox Nope, each email's the same, just with this - I didn't click on anything because it felt like a trap.

@Gid it probably is a "trap". Have you let Magix know about the email?

I did message Magix about it, but got no response.

I receive the same email this morning. Account looks exactly like Gid's screenshots. It says I activated Suite 3 days ago. I haven't made any changes to my account or been charged for the "upgrade". I'll let it sit for a while..

Magix Support finally did respond, but only to ask me to send a screenshot of the message (probably a robo-response). Tried to do that but my email was deemed undeliverable. All in all it does feel safe simply to ignore the bogus “you bought Suite” messages. I think I received another one of those a couple of days ago, but I may be making that up. If I did receive another one, I did ignore it.
