got a question

Anyone know an easy way to accomplish this task:

Say I have an entire session of a bands' song tracked and mixed using multiple envelopes (vol, pan,fx) on tracks and busses. And it's just about complete, when they come up with some sort of sampled intro with multiple tracks thats longer than the emply space I left before the beginning of the song.Is there a way to move everything over including buss envelopes?

Right now I'm working around it by rendering a mix, then creating a whole seperate vegas session with the intro stuff tracked out. It's alright, but a pain in the ass when I want to use the same send/ret reverbs etc. to blend into the song.

I realize as I type this I guess I should just leave a few minutes of dead space from now on, but looking for a 'after the fact' fix.

Thanks
Tim

Select All and drag it all to the right.

Yes, and make sure "Lock envelopes to events" is enabled.

I don't think Vegas (at least my 8.0c) will lock automation envelopes on busses to tracks, even with the command turned on.

Last time I had to do what the OP wants, I saved the project and opened it as a nested .veg inside a new project.

Use the Insert | Time function.

This will move envelopes on both tracks and busses. It will even split the events on the time line.

Thanks, Peter. That's better. More precise, more flexible.

thanks for the reply, but can't seem to get this to move the buss envelopes either (sorry I left out it is version 8c!)
