GPU-accelerated White Balance / Exposure plug-ins

Hi,

I have just developed GPU-accelerated versions of my White Balance and Exposure plug-ins.

I did so because I was getting tired of hangs during preview (with these effects like with many others btw), and wanted to see how GPU acceleration could help.

With my GTX460, it is about 10x faster than when the effect computations are done by my CPU, an i7 950 (a rather high-end one, at least 1 year ago). And the effect was already multithreaded, so it was occupying all the i7 cores. The acceleration is even more visible with a more powerful graphics card, and with a less powerful CPU.

If you are curious about choosing a graphics card, you may get a free eval and test:

NB: if the beta-testers having helped me for that read this message: THANK YOU!

Those look nice. I didn't know they existed.

I wish Sony would create (which I suggested to them years ago) a section on the website for third party plugins to get noticed. Something like a simplified Adobe Exchange but for Sony Vegas, Sound Forge, and ACID.
