gpu fix for unsupported graphics cards

I have a card that I know is unsupported, but it has GPU acceleration enabled and available. (ati radeon 5670)

Obviously when I try to render an mp4 in vegas 11 pro i get an error if using gpu to render b/c i know the card is not compatible with vegas' gpu feature. However, does anyone know if there are any settings in catalyst or vegas or anywhere on the PC that would override or fix these incompatibilities? I realise there probably aren't any fixes, but thought I'd run it by the forums first before I go out and buy a card.

You are 100 too low. Support for GPU accelleration starts with the Radeon HD5770 when it comes to the AMD cards. I do not expect that this will change. And as an ex-owner of a 5770, I can tell you that it didn't do much to boost performance. You need much more powerful video cards but you will see an enormous improvement.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I knew i had too low of a model number. Just seeing if there was a work around. So, which one of these cards would work the best for the price on this webpage below? I'm looking to only spend about $100. This is a local store here, and their prices seem good but idk.

What do you think of the XFX HD677XZNLC AMD Radeon HD 6770 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.1 x16 Video Card on that page. It's marked down to $99

Would that work with vegas pro 11?

Based on all the cards listed, the 6770 would be the best. But since Vegas 11, I've learned to stay away as much as possible from the AMD cards. You could spend an extra $20 and get a GTX550. It might be a better choice.
