Grabbing Clips from Many Vegas Projects

Hey all,
I need to compile some highlights of a number of Vegas projects, but can't find a simple way to do it. Ideally, I could save out what I wanted as a subclip, then import a whole slew of them into a new project and create the compilation. Of course this doesn't work. I don't want to have to render all the clips out again so that I can string them together, as it seems there should be an easy way to do what I want. Any ideas?

Put all the VEGs on the timeline, put regions around the portions you want to keep, and use Excalibur's keep good clips feature.

if you are running vegas 6 - you can just import all the .veg files into your project bin and then open each one in the trimmer and slice the section out that you want on your T/L. then just save and render as you would normally.

Nested Timelines. Open a new Veg. Find your Veg projects and add your completed - but not rendered VEGGIES - to this new veg. Make your selection and COPY from there into a further "Compilation" veg.

hmm.. i do alot of this.. specifically for titles, backgrounds etc etc .. openign a project saves opening a zillion files to find the right one... My system is pretty similar to media manager databasing, but my system is live... that is i can see the clip on the timeline and tweak its behaviour before i shift it..

so i use differnt files in multiple instances.. then copy and past e what i need as i go along..
As i have many many MANY composites, sometimes Nested timelines dont let me go through and mutilate different layers, whereas with my live system, i can jsut chop and change as i see fit...

I tried embeded Veg in one timeline, but doing this, requires vegas to access the source through proxy, and this requires a fair bit of grunt.... and workign with composited work, doesnt let u work on each layer as needed, therefore u need to open up the veg in anothe rinstance anyway...

Doing it my way may seem tedious, but your not runing any multiple Vegs on teh timeline, hence killing off the need to run proxy acccess to the media through another Veg...

MultiVeg is good but its only really good for certain things..

Yup, DJ, that's a good solution - I use nested on very small things. But your, "so i use multiple Vegs files in multiple instances.. then copy and past e what i need as i go along.. " is really swift and will not put my pc under pressure.
