Grabbing Pictures from HDV file

I have loaded a HDV file to my hard drive. I open it up in Vegas 7 and when I blow up the screen and save, the saved images looks horrible with all sorts of artifacts and looks nothing like the screen I pulled it off of.

When I make the preview screen smaller and save the picture comes out better but I can't get it to the size I want.

Is there a standard resolution I should stretch the preview screen to in order to get the best results?

Set the preview screen to "best full". Here I'm presuming you're wanting to save a frame grab.

Also make sure your Project Properties are HDV.
Project properties + Best Full = good frame capture.
