Graphic card recommendation for Vegas 17

Hello,

I am building a new pc in order to use vegas pro. I will use a Ryzen 7 2700X but I don't know which graphic card i need to add. I find some example for Vegas 16 and earlier but nothing for 17.

Is AMD graphic card still better than Nvidia one for vegas pro 17 and do you have any idea of which one?

Thank you for your help,

Best regards,

Damien

It seems like Nvidia holds the top spot currently, with the Threadripper combined with the RTX 2080 being our current benchmark speed champ if I remember correctly. Also, hardware video decoding only works on Nvidia hardware currently.

Hello, Unfortunately I don't have enough money to buy a 2080. I will check on Nvidia graphic card as it seems to be better now. Thank you for your help ! If you have any graphic card which cost around 300$ maximum, please advice.

You should start with your editing requirements. What is your main footage? If you use plugins -- you should mention them.

If you need to edit multi-cam 4K, I do not think any GPU that costs $300 will help you much.

You can pick up an RTX 2060 for around that price. However, paired with that CPU, you really want to drop another $100 or so and get the 2070.
