Just noticed that you are almost at the 10K post mark! If all those posts were to the vegas forum that would be 25% of the forum posts. That's amazing!
Edit, oops, that is number of topics, not posts, he he
. . yeah sad, aint I? . . was kinda keeping it quiet.
Actually I think you were correct the first time around. A "post" is were I write a "new" input. I would have said a "topic" would be an actual NEW topic or Thread. I aint started NEARLY that number! . . Now that would have been sad of me!! - Chuckles under beard
Met you a few years back at the Vegas gathering at NAB. Gotta tell you I admire you as one of the best on this forum. Never an unkind word for anyone, always willing to help out, and always in a good mood for a laugh.
I don't think he's ever been to the NAB conference though...I think you're thinking of someone else, Bill. I'd SURELY remember meeting Grazie face to face.
Maybe you're thinking of the guy that was really weird at one of the NAB gatherings, that a couple people kept pointing at and saying "Is that Zipply Galoo?"? :-)
On the subject of the NAB gathering....wait'll you see what we've got planned this year.
He got a jacket (for being the most prolific poster that year) and it was presented at NAB. I don't recall that he was actually there to receive it though. I seem to remember reading something about it being shipped to him.
Speaking of parties and NAB, Ikegami sure know how to put on a bash!
Don't ask me how we got past the queue and the bouncers at the Tao nightclub in the Venetian, or how we ended up sharing a table with the host. And don't even ask what the "ladies" were going for per hour and I think that's without doubt the LOUDEST nightclub I've ever been in. Every table had a 15" sub in it, great if you needed a leg massage.
We did see the bill, let's just say the corporate Amex got a good workout that night.
#3 - Bob Farss got a jacket there and then. Bob has a beard too! Bob has centuries more of experience than I ever EVER will - KUDOS to Robert! It is one thing to have something valuable to say. It is another thing to write many responses. Bob falls into the former. Often, and I do apologise, fall into the latter. However with OR without a "prize" I would hope I add a little to the general good vibe here. And as I haven't been "barred" I'm assuming that "them upstairs" are happy to have me here too!
#4 - Can't wait to hear what Douglas is referring to. Pray tell more?
#5 - DrL . . thank you. I'm glad I'm still around too! The alternative aint worth contemplating!!!!
#6 - Kelso? Are you absolutely definitely, positively, unequivocally certain that Madison DIDN'T change the date references line by line? I really think you should look into that.
At the end of the day, I have a passion for capturing and editing moving and adudio images. If I can derive more shekkels in what I do I'm a happy bunny. In the meantime, you lot are of great support to me.
WE are the TEAM!! - That includes The Madders! ("Madders" = Madison!!)
Zippy added a certain something to my day when he was around. I believe he's still a Vegas user and now resides elsewhere but his meds are now working, pity really.
If you want to raise a monster from it's sleep, let's not forget Theceo, now there was a real worry. I believe he's back 'inside' where he belongs.
Over the years Grazie has given advice to many users. He is a true gentleman
and virtual friend. I have enjoyed your help and hope that the assistance I have
given out has helped others as much.
I want to thank you for your 4,532nd post, it really helped me and could say
saved my life!
My thanks also to Grazie. I'm a 76 year old, whose grey matter is not what it used to be. He helped me out in my time of need, even to the point of Skype-ing for an hour or two. I will always be indebted to him. Pity that he looks twice as big as my 48kg, (apologies to my American friends who haven't upgraded to metric yet), otherwise I'd ask him to pass the jacket on when he's finished with it.
There are certain people whose posts I always check because they're usually informative and some are lively in addition. Grazie's posts are among those -- pity he's on the cold side of the world. We used to offer rescue for only ten English pounds (currency, not weight), but maybe we got too many takers because that service was discontinued long ago.
Of course years before that Poms were sent here whether they wanted to come or not, but I'm certain Grazie wouldn't have qualified.
