This post does not make sense ... I just said the sentence in my mind. Its as natural to me as ordinary speech. But that Aside surely writing is not the same thing as SPEAKING anyway.

I wouldent go up and say to someone "Dear Sir" and finish with "Yours Sincerely" WOULD I ! In everday speech you use your body as much as your voice to express yourself. (Body Language) So sometimes to make up for this Shortcoming. You can In writing USE " Picture this style"

Grazie does this very well.

Not only making conversing interesting but getting information across in a fun way. which means that will stick in your mind. And be entertaining.

Also Grazies personality shines through his writing and it can be the more sincerest form of communication apart of course from Actions.

Thanks Grazie for being such a great guy !

HAH! - But, what I notice from the thread in question, REXie, is that everybody got my message - plus one Viking too! Hello Torsie - so when you, REXie, say, "Do us a favor, and record a bit of your real voice with some of your favorite expressions and post it as a wav (or mp3, etc.) file somewhere we can link to." . . .er . .who's the us here you speak of? ? ? Yes? Yes? Yes? . . Hmm .. . ?!?!?

Anyways, Rex, I'll think on your request . .yeah?

You could always call me and we could have a phone chat . . yopur phone bill - hahahah . . .

I've finally worked it out, after all the years, Burgess was right, didn't he predict that by around now they'd be speaking Nadsat in the U.K.

Only two people have established their own highly personal and immediately identifyable "voice" in this forum. One is that capitalizing person with the short fuse and the long anger. The other is Grazie who is always backing people up, always pointing someone in the good directions and always inflicting everybody with his undying enthusiasm for vegas, for video, for art. And for Acid, too, by the look of it. Thank you Grazie, for being that voice and for showing us that there are good ways to speak out loudly.

So just how do you use that thing in SF?
I can get it to make a noise (that's how any sane person would describe anything that I get to come out of a musical instrument) but can one record the thing or um,,, well, what's it there for?
Grazie wrote on 2/14/2004, 8:54 AM
Well, farss, I did ask Mr Bryant about this . . . and yer know what? I stood there, nodded my head and at the time I really thought I understood what he said to me . . but, as you can guess from this . it's gone from my brain cells ..

Now, I'm going to take the output from the loudspeaker Headphone jack and plug it back into the other pc and record that . . I need to get a collection of Japanese type sounds together for aclient needing a sound bed to go with the video stuff I'm making for them . . Soooo... how do I get the Virtual Piano to turmn back on? - Please ..

Obviously your Acid install has unabled it. Aren't there keys in Acid you can use instead? What on earth do you use it for anyway?

Hiyah Tors . .No, it was disabled prior to Acid install.

There are some smashing sounds coming from this virtual kb honest . .I'd like to experiment with capturing the sounds from the Vkb as a wav file, make up some Acid loops and then bring them back into Acid . .yeah?

BUT, until I can get my Vkb back working . . . No, there aint no Vkb in Acid . .just loops and loop management . . .

Hmmm. Seems like I may have done it again. I guess my posting style comes off bad somehow.

I gather that both you (Grazie) and Mark2929 took some negative connotation from my post. I never intended that. I never meant that I didn't understand the sentence I quoted in the other post, or most of your other messages. I have absolutly no problem with your posts and it is fine that you are one of the most active posters on this forum. If you saw something negative in my message, please accept my apology.

You mention "North London" and I guess that is what I am talking about. It seems pretty clear to me that you must be writing as you speak, because (surely you can't argue with this) you have a unique posting style. The reson for my post was just that, when I read your messages, I understand them, but I don't think I am really "hearing" what they should sound like.

You obviously seem to write in the style in which you speak, rather than "book" english. That's fine. I have no problem, and I think most of us enjoy it. I just thought it would be fun to have an audio reference in my brain that I could filter the messages through.

As far as telephoning you, I guess I could, but I think I would need some bigger purpose than this to justify the call from N. California to N. London.

I just thought this would be fun. If you don't like the idea, for whatever reason, I certainly won't bug you about it. I'm not upset in the least and I hope you aren't either.

OOoops Rex A I did not take a negative line of thought from your Post Only that "I" meaning ME did not see the connection between Grazies speaking voice and his writing. I Tried to make my reasons clear in my Post for thinking this.

I believe that what may be happening is sometimes when reading Posts you imagine a character that has written them and Grazie is very good at expressing his personality But I still fail to see a connection between his writing Style and speaking style.

I have heard Grazie speak And actually (to my Ears anyway) he sounds a little" El Posho"

And comes across in a similar way too although not quite the same as his writing.

I believe if you want to hear him speak then call him on the phone is the best way.. Perhaps..

:)
