Green frame problem - any fixes in v9?

Hello
I'm using vegas 8c and am I'm frustrated over the 'green frame' issue.
I have searched through the forum and there are others who have experienced the same problem and I can't seem to find an answer that resolves my issue.
The problem is during the render process, vegas throws in random green frames - not always on the same clip - not always in the same place twice.
The file type that this happens to are mp2 files - and I usually render to avi. The more clips on the timeline, the worse the problem seems to be.
Even trimming the clips on the timeline makes no difference.
Does anyone know what causes this, is there a way to fix the problem, is v9 the answer?
Thank you for your help, it's been happening for a while now, but today it has frustrated me to no end!
Paige

mp2? you mean the audio files are mp2?

why not transcode them to wav or something else?

what's the video on your tl?

Hi and thanks for your response - sorry, I meant mpeg-2 video file.

Did you find a solution to your problem?

I've come across the same issue, 'imported 'DVD camcorder disc'
to rip files off DVD, then rendered the mpeg 2 files to avi - and single green frames appear in the rendered file.

Very annoying - there must be a reason why?

Hi LS

Sorry, I still have no idea why this happens.

I'm hoping someone on this forum will have the answer.

FWIW, the green frames aren't necessary Vegas fault.

I'm using nanoFlash, and the Long-GOP clips recorded on this device always start with a green frame in all Vegas Pro 9.0 versions (a-e).

It's been announced by Convergent Design (the nanoFlash manufacturer), that the incoming firmware version will take care of that (basically, fix the green frame problem). AFAIK, SCS might have helped to devise the fix, but is not issuing any patch (not to mention a new VP version) for this purpose...

Just my $0.03

I rendered some fullhd video to mpeg2 program stream with Vegas11. When importing this back, i get one green frame flash at 1 or 2 second.
Also when inserting mpeg2 parts to the timeline which can be smart rendered completely, at every cut i get green frame flash in the final rendered file. I can only eliminat this problem when set the opacity to 99% to the small parts, so here vegas have to render again without smart recompress.
I think it's still a bug, not in v9, even in 11!
