Grid on video preview

Help! This is an easy question and solution I'm sure but it's been bugging me for the last hour. How do I turn off the grid on my video preview screen? The only options I see are to turn on the Safe Area (which also suck) or shade the screen with different greyscale.

I'm talking about using Movie Studio+DVD

Thanks,

Shawn

Try this -- while playing preview click on the grid icon. The grid should disappear, at least it did for me.

Right -- the grid icon itself is an On/Off button for the overlay. The drop-down arrow next to it just lets you select what overlay it turns on or off.

But do make a habit of using the "safe area" overlay from time to time, to make sure your titles and images fit onto a TV screen. Most TV's really will lose a good portion of the image all the way around -- what you see in your editing window will generally NOT all appear on your TV screen. (Except that newer projection TV's and LCD TV's, etc., are more likely to give you the entire picture...)

On my system, the safe areas outline comes very close to marking what really shows up on my (very old) Mitsubishi 27" TV.

If its important in your video (like titles, etc.) make sure it fits within the safe area.

Thanks guys. Sometimes I guess the easiest solutions are the toughest to figure out.
