Had a great shoot today

Hey guys,

This may be a little self-indulgent, but I really wanted to share with the Vegas community that I was hired to film ( what else ?! ) a fashion show for this company...

http://www.dorinhawear.com

....a company that I've been "wooing" as prospective clients for about 3 years now. Well turns out that their regular video guys couldn't cover their show for their part in Vancouver's Fashion Week. So they had my card handy and brought me in. One of those make or break gigs and I gotta say it was fantastic.

I had my own hostess with microphone, lights, girls, fashion, behind the scenes, the whole she-bang. Footatge looks fantastic and once I give it the "VEGAS" treatment, I think I'm really gonna impress the client.

Fantastic, creative and rewarding day. Like Van Morrison always said,

"My mama told me, that there'd be days like this...."

Thanks for letting me share guys......

Stonefield ( Stan )

PS, no, the video on their site is NOT mine. I'm hoping that will change after today ( wink )

Congrats. I would find working in that environment both fun and distracting. So much so that I doubt any video I shot would prove useful.

Sounds like a great day. That environment is really high pressure and not forgiving, so good on you for being ready and able (the willing was shown by 3 years of wooing).

I think I know how you feel. I also did a last-minute fashion shoot (first one) this spring - pre-show backstage preparations included. The actual fashion show was a big production with a huge T configured stage that had models going off in all directions so that I had to keep jerking the camera this way and that to get certain shots.

It took a lot of editing, but the client was thrilled with the end result and I felt a genuine sense of accomplishment. I had been very apprehensive about doing the shoot due initially, but it all worked out so well.
Congrats on shooting your first fashion show - sounds like it may not be your last :-)
