What would be cooler is if they just sold the recorder base with an XLR plug on top so you could attack any mic. Now THAT would be way cool ;-) (Laurence, where do you find these things?)

That's what I was trying to say! I just got a full compass catalog in the mail. It had all sorts of cool things.

I like this one. And I like your idea better. There has to be something like it, right around the corner. Also, why hasn't the XLR plug been reduced in size, by now? Why not one the size of an S-video jack? And of course, adaptors that would let you go from old to new. I couldn't find a price on it, not even in the PDF I downloaded.

Mini XLR plugs/sockets have been around for ages. Other than the 'it's smaller and less obtrusive' factor they are a pain to solder and not as robust!

Similar to 'proper' headphone jacks and 3.5mm walkman jacks.
