I saw someone somewhere who had a slew of footage available for download but lost the link. It was on a video editing forum perhaps dvinfo's community.
I hate that companies like Canopus is putting out updates for their software and the one I use...my favorite...VEGAS..... doesn't support newer cameras like the Canon XL-H1 yet. AFAIK.
Shannon,
I did...and in 60i/30p mode, no problem. Vegas didn't recognize the 24f mode, but I was also working with a pre-production model. However, CineForm has indeed released their update, which definitely works with 24f mode. I'll have my XL-H1 on Jan 4th, if you can wait til then?
On second thought (Alex) you never wait for anything. :-)
Yes, CineForm Connect HD users can download a free update (v2.1) to support the Canon XL H1 is all its modes. Update and trial version is available from www.cineform.com.
Yes, Cineform ConnectHD 2.1 works excellently with the Canon XL-H1 in ALL modes. I highly recommend this program for those who wish to capture HDV footage @ 23.976fps direct from the camera.
However, the captured clips timecode doesn't match the timecode on the minidv tape. All clips start at 00:00:00;00. That's the ONLY feature it does not have.
I'm looking for a solution that gives me matching timecode so I can OFFLINE/ONLINE my projects, and utilize my sound mixer's & script supervisor's notes.
>>>I'm looking for a solution that gives me matching timecode so I can OFFLINE/ONLINE my projects...<<<
Vegas has never claimed to be an online solution. In other words you can't do an offline edit in Vegas and than take an EDL over to an online house for mastering. Part of this is how Vegas handles (or does not handle) timecode. I can't say 100% with HDV material as there are (were?) issues with timecode - again saying this so I sound like a broken record - that I posted in a thread, I think it may have been info from Cineform. Vegas also just assumes all media has a time code start of zero unless it was captured via the vid cap utility or SCLive...however, again, going to HD and HDV someone needs to compare notes here on that side.
PS - Just looking for links to what I was saying - these may or may not help:
