Has anyone completed a project with Vegas and AE?

Hi,

I have just purchased Vegas 4. I also have AfterEffects and am thinking of getting
FilmFX as a plugin for AE to make the project look like film. Has anyone finished
a project in Vegas, imported it ALL to AE and back out to tape/DVD? How did it
all come out in terms of the look? Also, any news on when Vegas may work directly
with either AE or Boris??? It seems to alone as an NLE in this regard. In fact,
this might be a put off for many people, in terms of choosing it, amazing though
it is! Or, do people think that AE is now redundant?

A round trip to AE may or may not be worth it depending on amount of work you are going to do there. AE is very good at preparing clips that you are going to later include into Vegas project, like complex backgrounds, particle effects (you can compose that in Vegas), complex text along the path animations. Production Bundle allows you to do rotoscoping (Vector Paint). You can do many things in Vegas. Not so many parameters to tweak, but AE always looked overloaded with parameters to me. Once in awhile you'll need that extra param there if you are lazy to come up with other ways of doing same effect.

Satish from www.debugmode.com is working on Vegas plugin that will allow you to drop Photoshop plugins into Vegas. If that works out, he'll be off to do the same for other types of Adobe plugins. At least that was the plan.

Someone here or on Usenet said that BorisFX for Vegas is in the works.
