Hauppauge HD-PVR and VMS-HD

Can anyone tell me if the issue of not being able to import .m2ts- or .ts -style AVC files captured via the Hauppauge HD-PVR have been resolved for the VMS-HD release? I really don't want to spend $80 for VideReDo and waste time re-rendering if all I need to do is upgrade to VMS-HD from 9.0b for $65.00.

Thanks

Why don't you download the VMS10 trial version, run some tests, and report back on this?

I suspect that GOP indexing repair is not included in the new release, at least it is not mentioned in the notes. Did you know that stream errors occur with any ATSC capture solution, not just the Hauppauge?

After going back and trying again, the answer, thanks to the demo of VMS-HD is YES.

You can directly import .mt2s captures ('Playstation' format) into VMS-HD. This will be a mjor timesaver for those who are wanting better control over creating their master video files. It has taken some trial and error on my part, but it does work with the right file type.

Well you beat me to it Geoff - VMS-HD Platinum 10, unlike its predecessor, handles M2TS files from the Hauppauge HD-PVR. This is a huge plus for me - thank you Sony!

I have had success with small files, but I am still not getting anywhere with larger files (I'm trying to get one recognized that is about 45m long)

Update:

What I am discovering is that there is a lengthy conversion process going on within Vegas - don't assume the program is hanging while you wait for the filename to pop up in the title field when you are importing. It is definitely doing some major processing.

This has been covered before, a couple of times, and once already in this thread. Perhaps you do not understand what GOP indexing errors are, and why Vegas has a problem with them

I understand about the streaming errors. I've been through the 'trial' version of Video ReDo, but I think it is actually creating more problems than it is solving for me.
