Hauppauge HD PVR hates Sony Vegas HD 9.

I record from the HD PVR, it won't load in to Sony Vegas. I can import it but when I go to drop it in, it will say it's loading, then Vegas will crash or give an error message or both.

I've tried recording in MP4 and M2TS and for some reason Vegas is having a royal fit with this even though it supposedly reads those files. What am I supposed to do to get this to work?

All PVR material contains indexing errors, even lowly mpeg-2. It's the nature of broadcast.
One method that works is Videoredo's "Quickstream Fix" processing. The software is not free, but has a generous trial period. Also removes commercials ;?)

Didn't help, still got error messages. I'm also not recording things like TiVo or any TV shows, I'm just recording off my Xbox 360.

Had this thing for a couple days now and the quality is great, I have it all set up, except I can't seem to get it to work in Sony Vegas. =(

Pretty simple answer: Sony VMS HD 10 can handle video from the Hauppauge HD-PVR, VMS HD 9 cannot. I know this from experience.

I'm willing to spend $100 on Sony VMS 10 if it's a guaranteed solution to the problem. Are you positive that's what it is? Kinda sucks that I wasted $50 on VMS 9. =\

Why don't you download the VMS 10 trial version and find out for yourself?
Since you've been here only onef day, I wonder why you purchased an older version in the first place?

I purchased it in early December, I only recently registered on the forums.

Also, I think I just say the cheapest thing and said, "That'll work," and went with it. I just got my HD PVR a few days ago. HD 9 worked great with Fraps footage, it just goes berserk on HD PVR stuff though.

I'll give the trial version a go, I didn't even think to see if there was a trial. Thanks.

EDIT: Downloaded the trial version and everything is working great! I'm a happy, happy nerd right now. Thanks!

I have a registered 9.0B Platinum and was able to upgrade to 10 for $64. I think if you go under My account->my software it will indicate your cost.
