Have a Scene-Selection Menu question...

OK, please bear with me, as I am new to this SW and am still learning.

Here's what I did:

1. I brought in a SINGLE 80-minute MPEG file into DVDA by dragging the file onto the 'Main Menu'. A thumbnail showed up, etc., etc.

2. I 'Navigated Into' the thumbnail and added 12 chapter points to the video.

3. I went back to the main menu and right-clicked on the thumbnail and chose 'Inset Scene Selection Menu'... and created a scene selection menu of 2 pages with 6 thumbnail each.

4. Since this was my only 'title' intended for this DVD, I wanted my scene selection menus to be top-level, instead of 'under' the main menu. So, I went to the scene selection menu page 1, selected all of the thumbnails and copied them and then pasted them on the main menu. I then created an second main menu page (Insert Page), and copied all of the thumbnails from scene selection menu page 2 to the newly-inserted main menu page.

So far so good. I then rendered and burned.

Now here's the problem (or at least what I wasn't expecting):

When playing the DVD in a player, I can jump directly to any chapter as expected, but when the chapter finishes (OR, I press the 'Next' or 'Previous' chapter buttons on my DVD's remote), it takes me back to the Menu instead of going on to the next or previous chapter.

So two questions:

1. What did I do wrong???
2. Is there an easier/better way to make chapter selections on the main menu than my copy/paste approach?

Thanks (and very sorry if this has been discussed before)!!!

#1: Don't know. It works as expected for me. Jump to chapter - end of chapter continues to next chapter to the end of the video at which time it returns to the menu. Next/Prev chapter on remote goes to Next/Prev chapter as expected.

#2: That's how I do it. Don't know of another way.

Look at one of your scenes, is the yellow out point marker at the end of the chapter or is it all the way to the right at the end of the video? The out point marker tells the scene to stop playing at the point of the marker. If you want to play to the end of the video, this marker needs to be all the way to the right.

Also check in the preferences near the bottom for the item "Enable go up buttons". If this is checked, the next chapter and previous chapter buttons will either not work, or not work as expected.

If the out point markers are at the end of the video and the Enable go up buttons is not set, then I am stumped on this one! Maybe try it in a different DVD player and see if it works the same way?

Yes your method of making the menu is as far as I know the correct way to do that.
