Have to Run Project for Audio to Smooth out?

Opened another part of Project this morning. I have a bunch of audio Cinescore and ambient. Nothing too taxing. But if I want to Preview Project I have to play through whole project to get sound up to speed. Didn't happen in VP9 nor VP8.

By "get up to speed" do you mean it was playing slowly or was it dropping parts or playing nothing?

Sheesh, not noticed it so far. My gut feeling says there's one gremlin in the works munching up different things.
Not applying any non real time FXs are you by any chance, only time I've had Vegas drop audio was back in V8 and that was a mix of non RT FXs and a disk drive going slow.

i had an issue with vegas playing back an audio clip at the wrong tempo on the tl and in the trimmer. for some reason, when i locate and play the file in vegas explorer it plays fine; then when i go back to the project it plays fine. hmmm...
