Have you seen this - 3D problems

Please have a look here:

Vegas 3D problems

I get this phenomenon when using 3D Source Alpha --> Track Motion and then moving the track slightly in 3D space.
As long as the track is plain 2D, all is fine. I can rotate it, no problem.
But skewing it even the slightest bit, makes half of the image disappear. Either vertically, horizontally or diagonally, as on my sample.

Have I missed something? I think I remember that all was fine when firing up Vegas 3 days ago for the first time.
Newest drivers for DirectX and my Nvidia are installed.

No idea on the track motion problem, but for clickable links the easiest way is to type "[ link=", without that space, then paste your URL and add a final "]"

[ link=http://www.ingvarius.com/pv/vegas/], but without the space, becomes http://www.ingvarius.com/pv/vegas/

There is a sticky #1 at the top of the forum called "New Markup for Forum Posts" that describes the markup codes used here.

Thanks Tim L,
I skipped the URL and linked the image in, directly :-)

I'm not at a computer with Vegas installed, but my hunch on the disappearing part of your image is that the 3D plane is intersecting the main 3D plane, so the invisible part is now a "hidden surface" behind the main plane.

I don't recall the Vegas terminology, but see if there is an option to disable the intersection thing, or bring your overlay image forward in 3D space so the rotated part is not behind the main plane.

I'm sure somebody else will be along shortly to describe this correctly...

Just place a empty track in-between the two tracks
what’s happening is your two tracks are crossing in 3d space

And now for a stupid question

How do you past a pic on this site? Do I need a special plugin?

Read the sticky thread on top ogf all threads in this forum.

You cannot paste the image in AFAIK, I think you need an URL to the image, like I have used. So if you have a place you can upload images to, you should be all set.

you can also take the problem track clip and move on your Z axis (forward) away from the background clip. Both clips are on the same z-axis in this shot it appears, so when you change x or y on the front most clip, you're turning it back into the background.

Here is the solution:

Switch off 3D in lower layer

I had 3D in both the upper and lower layer.
Turing off 3D in the lower layer solved the issue (1).

Thanks to everybody, you have been right, althoug placing an emty track in-between did not help in my case.
But I did get myself updated drivers for Direct X and for my GPU.
I also discovered the TRack Keyframes bar (2) which I was unaware of, all in all a nice experience :-)
