Having trouble exporting...

Hi,

I have Vegas Pro 8 and am working on a project that it taken from a bunch of ripped DVD VOB files from a client's work. It's for a show reel. All my clips are imported but my source folder which contains all the ripped footage is over 500GB in size.
Anyway, the show reel is only 3 1/2 mins long. When I open the project, it takes about 10 mins to load and then when I want to render/export, Vegas just quits on me!
Is there anyway I can copy only the media I used in the showreel onto another drive or something? Or do a video mixdown to turn all my footage into one long clip rather than a bunch of clips?
I'm an Avid editor and new to vegas as Avid doesn't take VOB files.
Any help or explanation as to why it crashes would be great. I'm runnnig out of time. Thanks

I would do this (and any DVD re-edit) with either Womble Mpeg Edit or Video Redo. These two programs are designed for re-editing DVD VOB files and will smart-render the results (only render transitions, titles and other parts that change) which means that the majority of your final edited DVD will still be first generation. Not only that, these programs will absolutely fly through this type of project.

Thanks for those links, but my problem is, I have already edited it and don't want to re-edit it in another program. I need to get it out of Vegas...thanks

What format are you attempting to export to?

Are you Rendering or Exporting?

Are you just trying to create MPG2 to put back onto a DVD?

Edit: Oops, you already told us the version you were using.
