HD Footage

I have not made the jump t o HD yet, yet I see allot of threads about how hard it is on the systems and hard to work with. my system is reletivly fast, only a year old intel quad core 6600 4 gig ram 2.5 T of hard drive.
I am wondering if anyone has some footage that I could download and use to test my system in the HD world to see if my system is up to the challenge.

Or direct me to a site that has some free stock footage in HD

Even my ancient Centrino-based PC will render/encode HDV. But I should plan on a weekend for it to finish. The biggest problem with slower computers and editing is mostly that the preview is slow and choppy.

If you have V8 or V9, then make your own test file using generated text, add some effects and encode as HDV. Then bring it back into Vegas and try it yourself.
