Adobe Media Manager may not be recognizing the fact that HD 1440x1080 has a pixel aspect ratio (PAR) of 1.3333. If it displays it with a pixel aspect of 1.0000 it will appear squished. If this is affecting it's ability to do what you want then you should work in 1920x1080 PAR 1.0. I would first try and see if there is a way to tell it that the PAR is not 1.
