HD in Vegas looks less saturated

When I capture and render HD video from my Sony HD-HC1 I'm pretty happy but I notice that the colors seem muted when compared to the LCD on the camers and especially so when I view the raw footage HD files using Nero's player.

Are there some settings in Vegas that I'm missing? If I'm capturing the footage in Vegas, why would the raw capture look so much better when viewed on a different player?

I'd suggest looking at the settings for your HC1 viewfinder.
Vegas doesn't do anything to the footage at all if you're working with an HDV timeline, so if they don't look the same, you should be looking to your camera.
If you print colorbars from Vegas to your HC1, you should be able to get them very close by adjusting the viewfinder.

I don't use Nero's DVD Player software, but these all tend to have a lot of manual adjustments and "picture settings." Better check these, perhaps with a commercial DVD to see how that looks.
