I have been reviewing a cute little HD pocket camera. It outputs the video in QT MOV format as an H.264 AVC1 video stream with an mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC LC audio stream.
QuickTime has no big problem with it, but VP8 will not see the audio. If I change the extension to mp4, it sees the audio and plays it with auto preview, but crashes Vegas when I drag it to the timeline.
I can run it through QT and export it still as an H.264 with AAC LC audio and all is well with Vegas. QT is just excruciatingly slow.
Using GSpot, the file that is converted in QT and works in Vegas has everything the same, except, the Audio shows 48000Hz 128 kb/s tot , stereo (2/0) instead of the 48000Hz , stereo (2/0) of the original. GSpot finds a bitrate in the file that works and it doesn't in the original that doesn't.
Has anyone run into anything similar and if so, did you find a work around?
