HD Platinum 10 unresponsive with MP4 input

Hi,
HD Platinum 10, I dropped an MP4 file onto the timeline, it seems to be OK, building peaks etc., then it uses 50-60% cpu time on as many processors as I have, and goes into "Not Responding" mode.

The mp4 was obtained with a Real Player download from Vimeo.
Real Player plays it OK.

is there some sort of a restriction?

Thanks,

Bryan.

MP4 video comes in a wide variety of flavors, colors and codecs. My guess is that this one doesn't want to play well with Vegas.

If you open the file in a utility like Media Info, what does it show as its resolution, frame rate and, above all, its codec?

Install in parallel VMS11 Platinum trial, load a copy of the project and check the MP4 file. If it works with the new h.264 decoder, upgrade your Platinum. If not, download the free GoPro Cineform suite, and re-encode the MP4 file as Cineform AVI.

Realplayer may have DRM'd your video. Use Download Helper for Firefox instead.

Thanks Eugenia and musicvid.

I'll see if I can get it re-encoded.

I cannot justify upgrading VMS to V11 just for this.

Thanks,

Bryan.
