HD Render Crash

Well, I have been running quite nicely for the past few months, but my render crashes are back. I was hoping 8.0c would have fixed that.
I have about a 20 minute timeline of HD (1440x1080) material with a number of jpeg pictures and some keyframing effects etc. which all in all takes up about 30 different tracks.
When I render to Blu-ray format using the Blu-ray template the program starts up going, and then crashes to desktop at different spots. Program just disappears.
When I change the template to SD widescreen 16:9 without changing enything else it renders all the way thru.

I have managed to render various Blu ray renders before, this is the first somewhat complex ( in terms of 30 tracks) one, and I feel it is back to memory allocation of some sort.
I'll try to split up the project in smaller chunks again, which has served me well in the past.....on larger SD projects

I'd try to reduce the number of tracks. Precomp some of them if possible i.e. render to uncomp HD AVI with alpha if you need it or else one of the XDCAM templates if you don't need the alpha channel.

Thanks Bob, can't really reduce the number of my tracks, as they make up the show..., I will try to render to HD AVI (never tried that before)
What I may also try is to selectively render only the portion that holds the 30 tracks ( its not 30 tracks for the entire project) to see if that one will fly, then I can split that away from the rest and hopefully continue.
Just kind of a bummer that I cant do it all together and have to resort to splitting again.
