HD settings to SD DVD widescreen

I am confused with getting full widescreen for a SD DVD.

I have been using VP9 for a year and upgraded to VP11 build 595 64 bit. I do mult-cam music video editing from 3 cameras.

Camera 1 is Sony 1440x1080i/60i MiniDV tape.
Camera 2 is Sony 1440x1080i/60i MiniDV tape.
Camera 3 is Sony HDR-CX560V MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 AVCHD 64GB Internal Memory. (1920???x1080i/60i)

What Property Settings for the timeline and Render setting should I use to get full WIDESCREEN SD DVD for play on a widescreen 1080 LVD-TV?

With VP 9 I would get full widescreen but with VP11 something has changed inthat I am getting a small bar on the sides of the LCD TV (not 4:3).

After/before capture to VP do I set properties to 720x480 or at 1440x1080 and render to DVDA 720x480?

Im just confused on settings, any help appreciated.

Complete your project using the most common WS HD format of your media.
Then, render the project out as (if you're in NA) Main Concept MPEG-2 using the DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen template and then render the audio stream separately as AC3 Pro.

A little confused here by the original post - but note this...for your info. If you shoot HDV 1440x1080 and capture as HD in your vegas timeline. Then use the export to SD NTSC Widescreen template for a videostream to make a Widescreen SD DVD you do in fact get a slight black bar to left and right on the burned DVD. This does not normally show in a 1080P LCD screen because the manufacturers built-in underscan masks the difference sent out from signal on your set-top player. IT WILL AlWAYS show in software DVD player through a PC because there is no such thing as underscan/overscan.

On the other hand you can shoot with camera in HDV - then down convert to SD within the camera output and choose the SD capture in your vegas timeline which will exactly give you a videostream output suitable for SD DVD with no black bars - in other words edge to edge video then results.

@Tom Pauncz: I have always processed exactly as you state but until recently I had never seen the bars.

@videoITguy: Now that I think of it, I first noticed the bars when playing the video on my PC. I thought that the bars were not showing on my LCD-TV maybe because I have a Blu-Ray player on the TV that upscales. I was afraid others would see the bars on their TV? I capture HDV as I also sometimes burn Blu-Ray of the same video.

Do you have the option to "Stretch video to fill output frame size" checked?

Peter, I can't find an option as you list in properties or preferences? Could it have a different name in VP11?

Look for it under "Render Options" after clicking "Render As..."
