HD: The Time Has Come, But...!

From my point of view, it appears that everything has fallen into place (or is about tofall into place) to seriously consider making the move to HD. The new Vegas Pro 8 (32-bit), Vista (32-bit), and the XDCAM EX (soon to be released).

The real question mark in all this seems to be Vista and compatablity. In checking which of my existing components will work under Vista, i.e., M-Audio 5.1 speaker system with Delta 410 card, I see that M-Audio has no drivers whatsoever for Vista for any of their PCI interfaces!

Isn't time these manufacturers got with the program?

Not too many audio card manufacturers are up to date with Vista... In short, Microsoft has changed the way that Audio has handled. It has *I THINK* something to do with DRM

I'm running the creative X-FI elite pro which has been updated for Vista... to the best of creative's ability anyway. There are some options missing on my card while operating under vista... nothing to complicated or life threatening, but it is an indication that things have changed. A lot of people were angry at Creative so they published the problems on the forum... which clearly point to Vista.

I'm glad you posted this and did some research. They are still developing for the Delta Series, I don't see yours listed though.
