hdcam and vegas

I am doing a project that I need to get some short hdcam HDW-730S broll into my computer and edit most likely in vegas,,
I have no capture card or hdcam deck,, nor do i want to buy or rent one. So, final delivery is sd dvd widescreen. The company supplying
the clips has full hd edit suites, so i believe they can deliver me what i ask for.. but what do i ask for
thinking about using an external drive, having the hdcam clips loaded , then import to my computer,, sounds simple ,but...
what am I missing here ? hmm codecs

They could just give you an uncompressed avi file(s), they're going to be big but disk space isn't expensive these days and you avoid any codec issues.
