Just wondering if anybody has any experience with using an outside party to capture HDCam (or other HD formats, except for HDV) and then putting it on a portable hard drive for editing in Vegas?

One of my clients has a bunch of SD archived footage. But, some of their new stuff is in one of the HD formats (they aren't sure which as they have another company do their actual production work).

Since my end product is WMV on a widescreen LCD (stretched SD for now - trying to go HD), I don't really need an HD deck - just a way to get the footage into Vegas from a hard drive.

Anybody got any thoughts? Also, would Vegas handle the footage (ie does HDCam and the rest have a standard codec)?
