I just picked up a 250gb Western Digital drive at CompUSA a couple weeks ago. I told the salesperson that Best Buy had it on sale for $300 plus a $100 rebate (total $200), and he verified it on their website and gave it to me for $199 out the door, so I didn't even have to wait for the rebates....

wcoxe1,
I just have to ask...
What is with the constant "great little Mexican company" remark anytime you mention CompUSA? Should we now be refering to Sony as "that great big Japanesse company"?

So a Mexican company has outlets in the US, does this bother you?
It's a NAFTA kind of world now.

On a lighter note, I do sincerely appreciate your passing along info on current Best Buys (not to be confused with that other great big electronics Mega Chain)

Keep the info coming and thanks again.
Mark

Maybe hes reminiscing about when everything we bought was made in USA.. mmm wasnt them the good old days?? When the wife could stay home and raise the kids. The husband could go out and earn enough money to support a family buy a home and maybe take a vacation or buy a boat. EVERYTHING we bought was made here in the USA....
Hard for American workers to compete with 10c an hour... Wait a minute ...that was the promise, wasnt it?? My tennis shoes would not cost 100$ no more because they were made cheaper overseas.. Id have all this extra disposable cash..Wait a minute my tennis shoes still cost $100 or more... Where did that savings go?? Its a new world I know.. Just reminiscing.. Did i spell that right?? Oh you know what I mean

My guess is that wcoxe1 is amused at the incongruity of a Mexican company having "USA" in it's name.

CompUSA sucked when it was a US company and sucks as a Mexican company---

Think about that the next time they say rebuilding Iraq will cost us $87 billion. Not to worry--the $87 billion will mainly go to US companies who set up business in Iraq, thus creating employment--for Iraqi workers. That's our definition of "foreign aid." Soon you can look under a Chevrolet and read "made in Iraq."

And then there was a company in Wisconsin who refused to charge $1700 for an NLE that works better than Avid Express Pro and its friggin' Mojo....
