HDR ?

Hi to  everyone,

My first  post here 😍, I'm casual, hobbyist  and will appreciate some input from "know how" people.

running v 14.

My question is that if I record in HDR, edit in VMS then render to BD 1080i50 (that's the format I intend to record as well), will the HDR be preserved and available on the created  BD disk?

Thanks

HDR does not exist for standard Blu-ray, only the UHD-4K variety, so HDR information cannot be preserved on a standard Blu-ray disc.

Ah... ok. What about editing and rendering to the uhd-4k file?

Would that work?

Thank you.

Not sure. They may have introduced something, but I'm not aware of it.

I did some test recording with HDR set on the cam  (it is consumer grade Panasonic VX980M). Played the recorded file from the  cam and directly from SD card to my TV. The TV did not recognise the file as HDR, so it is probably waste of time anyway. I might try to edit the files in CyberLink  ColorDirector and  see  if it can be improved if required.

Thanks
