HDV and editing tools

Hi,
I do not know whther this have been discussed earlier but I'm trying to get understanding which tools will or won't work with HDV.

Scenalyzer obviously doesn't understand HDV, thus I need another app for capture / print. Shame.

What about Pixelan filters and transitions? Or Boris FX/Red? I'm currently considering the upgrade from LTD to full version but have not done it yet.

BluffTitler?

Or is this now the thing called "deep compositing" and I'm on my way to full Cineform codecs which will lead me to poverty, criminality, early grave and despair? (not necessary in that order)

Substitute HDVSplit (freeware) for SCLive. Not quite as useful, but it does a great job. All the other stuff you mention works fine with m2t files. Cineform is not as essential as it was before Vegas7.

"Cineform is not as essential as it was..."

Unless you'd like to run it through VirtualDub and deshake it, that is.

I don't have the HDConnect extra-cost version of Cineform installed, so the codec won't work with VirtualDub. I've used the free HuffYUV with success in going to/from VDub, though the files are larger.
