HDV audio shorter than visual on timeline

I know this has come up before (ie before I got my FX1E) but I can't find the thread. After downloading from the camera using CineForm Connect HD v1.5, the audio on Vegas 5 timeline is shorter than the visuals (by about 3 frames after 30secs). This is 1080 50i. Presuming that there is something I should have done but haven't, what is it? Guess I could stretch the audio to match, but that seems an improper solution. Help!!

Just trim the 3 frames of vision, I've seen this myself and not only with HDV, stretching the audio will probably get it out of sync.

This is a problem associated with trying to edit mpgx video files...

DigVid, would you like to elaborate your comment? In other words, help me out of my ignorance!

I don't think anyone has a precise answer, I suspect it's got something to do with how the camera records the data, it probably always writes a full GOP but stops writing audio data before the end of the GOP.
Like I said it isn't a problem as you'll alwyas be triming something off the head and tail of a clip anyway. The audio isn't out of sync, there's just afew more frames of vision than there is of audio. It can happen to some extent on DV cameras as well or even stuff printed to tape, I see it all the time, it's not unique to Vegas either that I know off. Ignore it, just trim off the extra frames until the A/V ends on the same frame, job done.
And by the way I hope you're not trying to edit the m2t files, that'll be a real chore, use the CF DI avi files that it's created for you.

Thanks Bob. Ah no, wouldn't go near the m2t files. I've just moved into video from 16mm (costs, you know) and am having to learn a lot of new terms. I have no problem with lopping frames if that's all that's required. Quite used to doing that on the old flatbed to match up visuals and audio.
