I have two editing computers. One was built about two years ago, duo core. I'll put the stats below. the other is a quad core.
My duo- was my first editing computer. Worked like a champ, no problems handling HD footage, only when you start applying a few effects but never on capture.
Now when ever I try to capture HD 1080i footage from my HC1 or FX1 all of a sudden my one monitor goes black and the other monitor freezes. Next thing you know, I have a blue screen error.
This happens at any point, 20 seconds in 10 minutes in. when ever.
I have not changed anything with the settings, no hardware has changed. Why is this happening. It doesn't tell me what the error was. It has a code but it could be related to video card, ram, cpu...
With the setting in Vegas capture with Ram... Is it better to have more ram or less ram allocated to capture. Mine was set at 35% Is this too little, too much?
Can anyone offer suggestions to what might be causing this?
I capture to a second internal drive as well.
Again, nothing has changed hardware wise with the computer. I have after a few crashes udated my video card drivers and that didn't help. I turned down the acceleration with the video card, that didn't work.
