HDV camera not detected

This topic has been discussed before, I've read the threads, but haven't been able to solve my problem.

I have a Sony HC1 connected to my computer. It's detected and Vegas has no problem capture DV using "Sony Video Capture 6.0". Since this is a HDV camera I (of course) want to capture HDV, and I've tried using Vegas internal video capture application. This does not work. When I choose device type "IEEE 1394/MPEG2-TS Device" there are no device to choose from.

As suggested in several earlier posts I try update/change the camcorder driver. My camera shows up in "Device Manager/Imaging devices" as "Sony DV Camcorder". When I manually try to change the driver I have four Sony drivers to choose from:

Sony 1394 CCM-DS250 Desktop Camera
Sony AC Device
Sony DV Camcorder
Sony DV Tape Recorder/Player

I've tested all of them and none works.
My current Sony Vegas installation is Vegas 6.0c, running on Windows XP SP2.

I'm about to give up. Can someone please guide me to a solution before I lose my mind? I suspect there is a driver missing even thou I'm running on XP SP2. Where could I download such a driver?

Thanks!

Micke, capturing HDV is an entirely different process than DV. Assuming you have the full version of Vegas, go to HELP and search for "capture HDV." There is a detailed, step by step process to reconfigure Vegas to capture native m2t streams. You have to follow those steps precisely. HTH, Darryl
