HDV capture

I'm finally trying to upgrade from DV to HDV and am looking for a deck.

the Sony HVR-M15AU seems really good and not all that expensive, but I've read about people being unable to capture tapes shot with a Canon camcorder.

Has anyone heard of similar problems in Vegas?

Any opinions on the M15AU?

Anyone found a good deck for Vegas?

M15 AU is a workhorse! Excellent machine and works well with Vegas 8c.

Thanks. you didn't mention V9. Have you tried 9? I'm not feeling encouraged.

V9 works except when using FF or REW to scrub through video it hangs up and you must hit the reconnect button to get it going again. This behaviour was not present in 8c... everything worked fine.
