HDV export and recording options?

Now that the issues for importing and editing HDV footage in Vegas seem to be fairly clear now, what are options for exporting, recording and displaying HDV footage? If I'm not mistaken, there is no way to export edited footage back to either the FX1 or Z1 currently. I copied this from the Cineform website:

"NOTE: Temporarily Connect HD will not export edited material from the Sony Vegas 5 timeline back to the HDR-FX1. An update will be made available from Sony to add this feature in the near future. Anybody who purchases Connect HD is eligible for this update. Please check the Sony Media Software website for updated information about this."

Does anyone know when this will be addressed? "Near future" is always a relative thing. This would be the best way to have portable HDV footage until HD DVD and Blue-ray are ready for prime-time.
So our options for playback of edited footage currently seems to be limited to the following:
1. Play directly from a fast computer through VGA out. VGA to component video converter may be needed for many HDTV sets.
2. Render as WMV, burn to DVD, and play on WMV enabled DVD player. Has anyone actually been able to test this out?
3. Print to DVHS. This can be done from FCP on Mac but requires modifications and workarounds. Has anyone tried this from a PC using Vegas?
4. Blue-ray. Still up in the air and at least several months or even years away from practical use.
4. Downconvert to DV and use all of the normal DV distribution pathways.

Any other options I'm missing?
This is not a criticism of the FX1, Z1, Vegas or anything else. I love Vegas and would love to get the FX1. But I also want to be able to watch the footage on my video projector in my living room or show it to a friend on his HDTV. I think I just need more patience and it will soon work itself out.
