Hi

I'm wondering what to do when converting HDV files (either native .m2t or Connect HD .avi files) to DVD or DV? I am talking about the field order. HDV files are upper field first, and PAL DV and DVD is lower field first. Now this is going to cause problems with motion. How can I downsample and display interlaced content when it's the wrong field order for PAL??? I've just been doing progressive scan renders at the moment.
I have seen a comment by Dithermaster that Vegas deinterlaces footage if you select progressive scan. Does this use the two fields, or discards a field and interpolates the missing lines?
