HDV Project for web

Hi

I have a HDV project I would like to put on the web.

I would like to be able to export in either 480p or 720p like theese clips here:

http://www.adobe.com/products/hdvideo/hdgallery/

So basicly my questions are:

1. Which format and preset should I use to get 480p or 720p for playback in flashplayer?

2. OT: How do I integrate the file on a webpage?

Vegas doesn't output Flash video so first you need to get a flash encoder, then you need to see what video formats it accepts and then render to that format. The most important thing is that the web has a pixel aspect ratio (PAR) of 1.0. So 720p works fine because it has a PAR of 1.0, but 480p needs to be resized because it's PAR will be 1.2121 for NTSC Widescreen or 1.4568 for PAL Widescreen. There is a slight change that the flash encoder will take care of this for you.

I actually found a quite good player that easily goes on the web:

www.flowplayer.org

It's under opensource, but you can buy license too.

www.vimeo.com will solve all your problems.

You render as an MP4 and there is even an tutorial on how to setup vegas. Ensure you render in 24p or it will stutter.

Upload to vimeo, it converts and then its on the web in lovely 720p HD. It even givs you a little button to insert code into your blog, forum posts or website. Nice!
