HDV Render - Advice needed

Am still having major issues trying to complete a render of a 1080i 24p timeline (shot using V1U). I "think" the issue may be that I did not have "quantize to frames" selected when starting editing thus there are many events that drift a half-frame or so. I tried to fix them all but this is a pretty big show with hundreds of individual events. I am getting consistent hangs and crashes when rendering.

My question is - if I am able to successfully render this out using the Cineform intermediate HDV 1080 template - can I turn around and print that to tape to the V1U? I am assuming it will need to be re-rendered again to 1080i M2T - if so, how would that look (losing a generation and going from M2T to AVI to M2T)?

Thanks in advance.

o. If you render to the CineForm codec, you'll have to render that format back to HDV to print to tape.
Losing a generation from Cineform isn't any big loss. You might see some issues in graphics, but otherwise, you'll probably not notice any loss at all.

Great! Thanks for the info. I was able to get it out into a Cineform AVI and am doing the PTT now.
